StarringSMU 2007

StarringSMU

StarringSMU 2007 was a community service project (CSP) which came about as a collaboration between SMU (Singapore Management University) and Young NTUC. This was the largest CSP hitherto (undertaken by SMU) involving over 300 students.

The CSP entailed a lot of different activities like a car wash to raise money for renovation of a community center (we recieved over S$ 8000 in just 2 days, exceeding the expected target of S$ 6000), collecting wishes from people around Singapore to be showcased in a form of a giant jigsaw puzzle as part of celebrating the Singapore National day (9th August) to name a few things. The main highlight of the CSP was to participate in the largest human Singapore flag formation (10,000 people) as part of the national day parade.

It was especially an interesting experience since this was a CSP where the freshmen (batch of 2007) were involved and it was great working with them, all full of energy and enthusiasm.

I hope to participate in this CSP again next time around and maybe even be a part of the team organising it.
