Cross-Jurisdictional Patenting

In a study titled “Innovation in an Emerging Economy: Strategic Role of Life Science Patents in China” I worked alongside Prof. Kenneth Huang, a research affiliate at MIT. We collected data pertaining to life science patents for multiple jurisdictions and tried to link them together using (among other things) the forward and backwards citations. This study is still on-going and next we will be looking into establishing the impact of (re)patenting in other Jurisdictions and use the information collected to identify the key-factors influencing the impact.
